Music Man

It is about time that I talk about Max's musical skills.

And have I ever mentioned how talented his birthmom, Emily, is? Well, she is beyond talented. She has an A-MAZING voice and can play the piano with the best of them. She even has a few songs professionally recorded! Made me tear up the first time I heard them. Seriously. VERY. GIFTED.

So it is only natural that Max would also be gifted in this area.

[Please note that the moment Max spies the camera, he starts saying, "CHEESE!" I have to redirect him back to his piano concert.]

My Two Men

Aren't these two boys good lookin'?

Max just up from his afternoon nap.
Snack time and watching a golf tournament with daddy.

Max's new "Say Cheese" face.

"Say Cheese" one more time...

Happy Anniversary!

Babe,

Happy Nine Year Anniversary! You are an amazing husband and incredible father. I am so proud to be on this journey of life with you. [You are absolutely my BFFF ;)]

Here's a trip down memory lane:

Thank you for helping me overcome my fear.
However, don't ask me to get in one of these small planes again!

What attracted me to you in the first place?
Your strapping good looks and sense of humor.

Christmastime in NYC.
Something everyone should experience!

Vacations in the Caribbean.
Memories that will last a lifetime.

And our first glimpse at Maximus.
A moment we will never, ever forget.

Cheers to nine wonderful years, babe. I love you!

Wild Olive Tees: A Must-Have!

Wild Olive Tees is rolling out a new line of Christian kid's tees. Friends of mine, Amie and Kristen, were part of the team that launched this chic and savvy tee shirt company.

When I saw that the first kid's tee reads "CHOSEN" on the front, I immediately thought this is a must-have for Mr. Maximus. Can you even think of a better word that sums up our adoption journey to Max?

And speaking of adoption. Wild Olive has a heart for adoption. 25% of the profits  from the CHOSEN tees will benefit Love Without Boundaries. Please click here to learn more about this amazing charity!

And here is a sneak peek at the graphics for the boys CHOSEN tee. Awwww...I can't wait!

Stop on over at Wild Olive. They have great adult tees too!

Fun at the Farm

Max's grandfather, or the man more lovingly known at Papa, turns the big 6-0 in a few days. To celebrate, we all headed out to Sam's brother, Tom's, farm. We enjoyed games [3-legged race, egg toss, water balloon toss!], prizes [as in good prizes that included envelopes with cash], and yummy, pot-luck, grilling food.

What a beautiful day spent with family on the farm.

The ol' tire swing!

Max looked like a pro with his first ear of corn!
[Looks like I don't have to slice the kernels off the cob anymore!]

The day wasn't complete without a 4-Wheeler ride.

Plenty of yard to play with his cousins!

And the reason we all celebrated:
Happy 60th Birthday Papa!

New Tricks, Talents and Words

I captured Max on video this morning showing off some of his latest accomplishments.

The video shakes down like this:

Talent #1 Max eats with a utensil [Go buddy, go buddy, go buddy!]

Talent #2 Max throws utensil down because isn't it just easier to eat with your fingers?

Talent #3 Max becomes mesmerized by the TV [that just happens to be on mute while I was filming]

Talent #4 Max sees a dog on TV and can't contain his excitement by exclaiming "da-aawg"

[Notice how he completely ignores me once he locks eyes on the telly. Typical guy, huh?]
